A Cruise Day in Toledo
Docked at the Glass City? A perfect shore day, nearly all of it within a walkable mile of the gangway.
Built for Cruise passengers
Great Lakes cruise ships tie up right downtown, which makes Toledo one of the few ports where the whole city is a shore excursion. Here is the day, in walking order.
You are starting here whether you planned to or not — the dock sits at Water and Jefferson, in the middle of everything.
Ten minutes up the riverfront: the story of the lakes you just sailed, plus a museum freighter you can board.
The science center is the move if the weather turns — two floors of hands-on everything, right on the river.
Saturday in port? The market has run since 1832 and it is the best cheap lunch in the city.
Walk through Hensville toward the ballpark district — on game days this whole block is the event.
If the Mud Hens are home, there is no better way to spend a Toledo afternoon than minor-league baseball in one of the best parks in the country.
