TARTA's Trash Troop Cleans Up In Litter League
The trash is collected, the litter is lessened and the results are in: For the sixth year in a row, TARTA’s Trash Troop has placed first in its division of Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful’s Litter League . Team TARTA volunteers picked up and disposed of 60.5 bags of trash on Saturday clean-ups this summer, placing the team first in the Business Division and fourth overall among 12 teams countywide. TARTA trailed only the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities Trash Pandas (155 bags), Frogtown Filth Faction (106 ½ bags) and The Pickup Artists (63 bags) in the competition, which saw teams remove a total of 519 ½ bags of litter from the streets of Toledo. This summer-long beautification project encourages community organizations and individuals to form teams that pick up litter in their respective zip codes. Route 3 Schedule Route 5 Route change for weekday and weekend service; eliminate service to Flower Hospital. Flower Hospital will continue to be serviced with Route 2. Keeping An Eye Out For The Community
To provide a better situation for this family, Anthony made the career move of stepping behind the wheel of a bus. On a route a few weeks ago, he stepped off of one to help someone else’s family. While operating TARTA's Route 18 near Brooke Park Apartments, Anthony noticed a girl without a coat walking in the middle of a busy street. “I kept thinking about my daughter and how I wouldn’t want her to get hurt, because she was just kind of wandering and it was very dangerous,” Anthony said. “I pulled over and one of the passengers helped me get her out of the road and talk to her a little. She wasn’t really dressed for the weather, so we were all concerned.” The child told Anthony she was hungry, and was trying to walk to the Burger King on Alexis Road. Anthony contacted his Transportation Supervisor, who contacted authorities. Anthony then waited with the girl for the police to arrive and…

From The Mall To The Music With Glass City JazzFest Express
Glass City JazzFest celebrates five years of bringing nationally known and world-renowned music acts to Toledo, and TARTA is thrilled to help connect fans with Toledo’s past, present and future in jazz music. JazzFest takes place over two days, with music Friday, August 14 from 6-10:30 p.m. at the Toledo Zoo Amphitheater and Saturday, August 15 from 1 p.m. to sunset at Glass City Metropark. TARTA’s Glass City JazzFest Express offers transportation from two park-and-ride stops to Saturday’s event. Beginning at 12:30 p.m. on August 15, buses at both Franklin Park Mall and The Docks (20 Main Street) will be running directly to this event, which is expected to draw 8,000 people to the park. Jeep Fest Express Is Your Ride To Toledo’s Biggest Celebration
More than 100,000 people are expected to flood downtown to celebrate an iconic brand for Toledo Jeep® Fest August 6-9, 2026. TARTA doesn’t want fighting for parking to be a part of it for anyone. The Jeep® Fest Express is back Saturday, August 8, offering $3 round trip rides from park-and-ride locations to the All-Jeep® Parade. Board at Franklin Park Mall (Royer Road side) or Walmart in Oregon (3721 Navarre Avenue) to avoid parking and traffic headaches and be dropped off downtown, steps from the parade, the Park-N-Shine, the display in the Glass City Center, family activities and the vendor midway. Direct trips from both locations drop off near the corner of Jackson and Huron Streets. Park at Lucas County Recreation Center (2901 Key Street, Maumee) and catch a $3 round trip shuttle to E. John and Conant streets and everything the Summer Fair has to offer. August 9, 2025 Glass City JazzFest returns to Glass City Metropark on Saturday, August 9, 2025, and so does the Toledo Area Regional Transit Authority’s shuttle service to this event, with affordable rides available from two park-and-ride locations. Buses at Franklin Park Mall and The Docks will be running directly to JazzFest, which begins at 12:30 p.m. and is expected to draw 8,000 people to the park.
