The Walleye signed a player with NHL games behind him on Wednesday. The team announced October 14 that it had signed former NHLer Chris Terry.
That is all the team's news page says so far. The listing carries only the headline, so there are no contract details, no position and no word on where he fits. Those will be added when the team publishes them.
The signing comes three weeks before the season starts. Toledo opens at home on Saturday, November 7, against the Fort Wayne Komets at Huntington Center. Puck drop is 7:15 PM ET. Two weeks later, on Wednesday, November 18, Rapid City comes in for the School Education Day game at 10:35 AM ET, and the Rush are back on Friday, November 20, for Golf Night.
The offseason has been a steady run of signings. Matt Jurusik was re-signed in goal on September 28. Scott Docherty, Greg Smith and Nick Nardecchia were signed in August. Kyle Gaffney and Nolan Hutcheson came back. A trade for Schade went through on September 11. Terry is the newest name on that list, and the only one on it with an NHL label attached.
A label is not a lineup spot, though. Opening night will show where he plays.
